download: TRAVIS RYAN (Cattle Decapitation singer) / DEATH BY A THOUSAND CUTS

The long out-of-print TRAVIS RYAN / DEATH BY A THOUSAND CUTS split CD is now available for digital download @ http://chromepeelerrecords.bandcamp.com/album/travis-ryan-death-by-a-thousand-cuts

ABOUT THE RELEASE:
One of the more interesting pairings of harsh, electronic horror, upstart noise duo Death By A Thousand Cuts team up with CATTLE DECAPITATION vocalist Travis Ryan to transmit an hour of grim, nightmarish drone noise. Travis Ryan's four tracks open the disc with an edgy, paranoid ambience that mixes environmental buzzes and electronic hum with blurry theremin melodies and hushed buzzsaw tones, evoking the faint but discernible hum of electricity you feel when standing at the edge of an urban landscape in the middle of the night. Occasionally Ryan's droning dread lurches into a staticky overload that recalls the chopped up circuit burn of John Wiese, but more often drifts through a halogen-lit dreamworld similar to a grittier, urban take on Glass Throat Records atmospherics.

The other side of this split is haunted by Death By A Thousand Cut's nightmarish free electronic designs. DBATC's industrial hallucinations are conjured from noxious bass sinewaves and cloudy keyboard drones, curling upwards out of metal-on-metal carnage and blasts of laser-beam effects pedal violence, and the music becomes strangely beautiful, especially with the cosmic, Troum-meets-Bastard Noise insectoid frequencies of the final track "Approach Of The Black Claw".

CPR-14: FINAL SOLUTION "All New Power"
Re-issue of impossible to find 1990 demo from NYC power electronics legends. FINAL SOLUTION created some of the most raw and intense power electronics ever. Auricular Records Announces 10-Year Retrospective 5-CD Box Set by My Boyfriend the Pilot

by Auricular Records on Thursday, October 28, 2010 at 12:53am

San Francisco, October 2010 - In celebration of the 10-year anniversary of the experimental electronic project My Boyfriend the Pilot,  Auricular Records is releasing a retrospective 5-CD box set.

Far from the ocean of carbon-copied electronic acts, near such creative islands as the Residents and Stereolab, My Boyfriend the Pilot is a creation of audio genius ripped from the heart and viciously fervent mind of its creator, Minmei Decelis. From the deepest, darkest corners of her psyche she bares all, in a melodically transcendental form. She has been described by critics as representing some of the most innovative sounds-styling towards electronica, rhythmic noise and dark ambient genres.

The music created by Minmei Decelis tends to crawl under your skin, shapes the most fantastic images, and stays challenging by means of an intelligent use of samples, rhythms and beats.

My Boyfriend the Pilot – a project name derived from an episode of the science fiction anime series Robotech - exercises a surreal science of structure that throbs and pulsates in an almost obsessive manner. The music is almost suggestive of a mechanical assembly line in its clock work rhythm, pulsing ambient echoes of machine- milled passion, and sampling of the beating, tell-tale heart of the dark ambient underground.

The box set, entitled Cleared Touch and Go, contains all past releases as well as the brand newly released extended composition Center of Changes. As a special addition to the collection, the box will also contain a disc of remixes and videos produced specifically for this special edition release. Artists contributing to the remix and video portion of the set include Big City Orchestra (featuring Daevid Allen of Gong and Jonathan Segal of Camper Van Beethoven), Malaysian sound experimentalists Space Gambus Experiment, veteran ambient experimentalists Nux Vomica, Tokyo-based IF? Records founder Andrez Bergan, as well as premiere works by JJ Sonick, Robert Lane, and Rhedcerulean. Cleared Touch and Go comes in a hand assembled, numbered box featuring 5 specially packaged and designed CDs as well as full liner notes for all releases and a collection of visual oddities and associated ephemera.

recordings included:

My Boyfriend the Pilot – S/T

My Boyfriend the Pilot - Cut

My Boyfriend the Pilot - Raped by an Angel

My Boyfriend the Pilot - Center of Changes
